The 2016 Gilgal Chardonnay, from Israel's famed Golan Heights Winery, is made entirely from grapes grown in vineyards on the northern Golan Heights. The highest and coolest part of the Golan, this area has proven to be highly suitable for growing this classic white varietal. The wine aged briefly in oak, and presents lemon, melon and pineapple characteristics, intermixed with hints of tangerine, spice and oak. With medium body, this Chardonnay is flavorful and fresh. It is ready to drink now and will remain so over the next 4 years. This food friendly wine will pair wonderfully with seared sea bass with sage butter, baked boneless chicken thighs with preserved lemons, or a mushroom and brie white pizza. Kosher, Kosher for Passover.
