Midbar, which literally means desert, is located in Israel's Negev Desert, near the Ramon Crater. It is a dramatic landscape, with intense sunlight, hot dry days and rapidly cooling nights. The winery is small: just 50,000 bottles per year produced. Winemaker Shachar Landsman is a professionally trained winemaker, who graduated from the University of Florence. The 2014 Midbar Kosher red is a dry red wine, maintaining natural freshness and expressiveness fo the grapes. The blend is Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. You'll detect characterizations of ripe red fruit, plums and black pepper on the palate. Kosher, Kosher for Passover.
